Listen…

This is a lament I wrote about the current state of affairs in the world. It’s called “Listen.”

Maybe now is a good time to listen

To ourselves

To each other

To spirit

To plants and animals and trees

To those we’ve labeled different or unworthy

Those we’ve judged as “other”

Listen to the lost, the forgotten, the meek, the weary, the wayward, the wretched, and the wild…

Let’s listen to ANYONE other than whoever the hell we’ve been listening to

‘Cause they’ve been wrong now

For quite a while…

Thoughts on Love

Posting a day late but better late than never…

Hello bloggers and readers!! I hope everyone is feeling loved today! I know Valentine’s Day can bring about mixed emotions for those who aren’t presently in a relationship. I wanted to remind you that love is not just for lovers and your relationship status says nothing of your value and/or worth (self worth or otherwise). I’m not a huge fan of hallmark holidays that cause us to feel obligated to offer gifts and sentiments; but I’m a very big fan of showing love when we feel inspired to do so, because then the recipient knows it was truly offered from the heart. I’m also a huge fan of celebrating, expressing, and sharing love 365 days a year; because how can such a grand, all encompassing thing be limited to only one special day?!! Naturally, I’m a big promoter of self love as well as love and respect for all others; for we are all, each and every one of us, truly a part of each other. So, with that said, I offer you my love and wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day! Let’s learn to love ourselves enough to heal the world!! ❤🌎❤

XoXo,

Carolyn

Dear Everyone,

Occasionally you’ll hear me refer to us as brothers and sisters. I hope none of y’all are made uncomfortable by that. You’d have to understand my heart. You see, far away from here, in a place devoid of anger, hatred, fear, discrimination, race, religion, gender, creed, and all other earthly entrapments, all we know is that we are one and we exist in that knowingness in an unending state of blissful awareness. I like to keep that awarenesses with me at all times, especially to help remind those who might have forgotten. So I’ll kindly and humbly ask you to please forgive my overly familiar ways because although you may have forgotten me, I still know and love you and I hold you dearly in my heart for all time. Oh what a joyous celebration there will be in the heavens when all souls know they are one!! I’m not one to delay a good party so I started my celebrating right here on Earth! Y’all are welcome to join me at any time. Yes, I said “y’all” twice. I’ve been living in the South for 10 years now. The phrase grows on you after a while so y’all are gonna have to get used to it! Oops – that’s three now!! Love you everyone!! Come dance with me in eternal bliss in the Light of the Divine where we are safe, and free, and loved forever. Blessed be to us all.

Love,

Carolyn ♡

The Wellspring Within

This piece is called “The Wellspring Within.” It was written by me two days ago. I hope you enjoy it. ⚘
There is a wellspring within each of us from which all good things flow. It’s the very essence of Life, the Creator, and All That Is. We have only to learn how to tap into it and then all that it has to offer is ours. This is why time spent with Self in silence is a sacred duty. Love and knowledge of Self are above all things and once that’s established, all else flows. When our hearts are filled to the brim with love of Self, it is then that we can pour it out unto all the Earth and it’s people. I can’t tell you how wonderful a feeling one such as this is. I can only encourage you to pursue it for yourselves and I dearly hope that you do because your eternal “you,” is so very worth it. Blessings to you and may it be so.

Aho Mitakuye Oyasin! Prayers and dedication for our Water Protectors .

This is a dedication I made for our water protectors. Praying for them daily. Praying for all of us. ♡

“Mitakuye Oyasin” is from a Lakota prayer which acknowledges the interconnectedness of all people and asks for the Creator’s blessing upon all of us. How great is that?! Really great, if you ask me.
For our water protectors in North Dakota who are out there every day risking their lives for all of us while fulfilling a sacred mission. I pray for their safety and I pray that humankind awakens from the collective amnesia we’ve been in for far too long. Aho Mitakuye Oyasin!

Doing the Write Thing

Career status: as it turns out, I haven’t retired from the caregiving profession after all (as mentioned in my blog post entitled “Onward Goes the Journey”). In fact, it seems that I broadened the field. Instead of private duty positions in one person’s home, I’m now available globally! It’s not as daunting as it sounds, lol. I’ll do what I can from where I am, and if I can do something more, I will.

I’m also interested in reaching out to other writers who’d like to join forces (via our words and voices), to spread awareness about important issues in a peaceful manner.

A perfect example would be the ongoing pipeline protest situation at Standing Rock, which is getting very little media attention. I was able to speak with individuals today who have been there and some who live there. I asked how things are going and how we can be of assistance. They need our help and support desperately and they need food and supplies in order to continue with their efforts. Snow has already begun to fall in North Dakota, so cold weather essentials are needed as well. Check listings in your area to inquire about where to drop off donations.

I feel like I have an opportunity to get the truth out there regarding situations like this. I have a voice, I have writing skills and I have all manner of social media at my disposal. I alone can make a difference, but by joining forces with others who are interested in assisting, I can do so much more; rather, WE can do so much more.

Loving hearts prevail. Peace is the way!

*If interested in joining this mission, feel free to send me a message.

Dear American Voters…

Friends, I want to share some concerns with you today because the more I think about them, the more concerned I become and when that happens, I have two choices: talk or write. I’m a communicator and a writer, so that’s what I do.
Starting off, I’ll say that I have friends that are planning to vote for Hillary Clinton and friends that are planning to vote for Donald Trump. I view that as their own business and I leave it there. My way of looking at this is that we have the right to choose in this country. We have freedom of thought as well as the right to vote. Each person I’ve listened to (whether pro Hillary or pro Trump) has made their choice based on what they feel is right and important. I can’t fault them for that and under no circumstances will I allow differences of opinion to cause me to judge them or love them any less because doing so would be a construct of the ego and the ego always wants to be right so it tends to be an unfair, pushy tyrant. Love says “I respectfully disagree but I still hold you in the highest regard and I respect your sovereignty and free will.” Love has no need of being right. Love doesn’t vilify people for voting a certain way. Love does not shame and blame men and women, based on their gender, for voting a particular way or not voting a particular way. Love doesn’t yell and scream and have temper tantrums to the degree of a tyrannical five year old in an attempt to make others feel guilty, angry, and shameful about their choices. As we’ve seen, that doesn’t work anyway. It angers the targeted audience and causes them to stand firmer in their convictions which is a fine example of stubbornness teaming up with ego.
Now, I know people are angry and scared and concerned in regard to the election, but this is not the way to go about it. Children all over this country are watching our every move. This is what concerns me most of all because so far we’re teaching them that it’s ok to shame and blame people who think differently than we do. We’re saying it’s ok to force our opinions on others relentlessly when their opinions aren’t in accordance with our own. We’re showing that a person’s gender should dictate how they’re voting in this election and that it’s ok to shame and blame them if they don’t plan to vote accordingly.
Perhaps more than you realize, the children and adolescents are watching and listening and as a result, they’re scared and confused. On their behalf, as well as for ourselves and each other, I am imploring each of us to do better. We must. We have to. Do whatever works to remain peaceful. Don’t talk to those who cause you to respond with anger. Don’t listen to radio and television shows that get your blood boiling and limit or avoid that sort of thing online as well.  Not only is it possible for us to have our own thoughts, preferences, and beliefs while remaining peaceful and inflicting them on no one, but it’s necessary, vitally necessary. Every day throughout our existence on this planet, we will encounter people who have an opinion that’s different from our own. We have to get used to that.
Consider for a moment that we aren’t being provided with all the facts. Consider that both sides of this election have obvious smear campaigns against each other and are using the media to spin things a certain way. Ponder the possibility that we’re being purposefully pitted against each other because a nation that’s at odds is easier to control. God forbid we should be tolerant, loving, and peaceful toward each other. There’s no drama to drum up in that to keep the animosity going.
Bottom line here, people assume that our country is at stake based on the results of the upcoming election and I’m not disagreeing with that but I’m suggesting that what’s more at stake is our ability to coexist here peacefully due to our inability to control our own emotions and get our egos to shut the hell up and sit down. We have the right to be ‘right’ in our own mind and the right to have intelligent discussions regarding why we feel that way, but keep it there, at that level. Let’s keep our inner tyrant as subdued as possible so that we don’t incite more fear, anger, hatred and discrimination amongst each other and our children. Remember, they’ll be voting some day too. Let’s show them how to choose in a peaceful manner.

Plans for the Weekend

1). Take good care of myself

2). Take good care of all people

3). Take good care of the plant and animal kingdom

4). Spread messages of love and oneness throughout the land

5). Help as much as possible as often as possible

6). Refuse to let fear tactics and negativity lead me off course or cause me to stop believing in the inherent goodness of all sentient beings

7). Be an ambassador of peace and goodwill among all living beings

8). Do all that I can to create a safe, peaceful world for this generation and all future generations

9). Love, love, love, and love some more

10). Repeat all of the above every single day for the remainder of my existence and work on a way to continue beyond that point as well.

So, looks like I might be a little busy this weekend. 😉😊❤

A Call to Love – Supporting the Sioux of Standing Rock

The time has come (actually way overdue) to stop dishonoring Native Americans. Once again, they’re being bullied, ignored and taken advantage of on the land that was given to them and is rightfully theirs. Not to mention the further desecration of the planet and the land belonging to the Sioux if this pipeline plan is allowed to continue. This is preposterous and unfathomable!! This does not rest well with my soul! Let’s stop dividing, categorizing, and separating. Let’s eradicate the false notion that some are more deserving than others. Let’s take care of our world and each other. Though we may be many, we are one. We belong to each other. May we all come to know this in our hearts very soon for the wellbeing of ourselves as well as all future generations.

Teach only Love

This is a beloved picture of my oldest son who is now nearly 21. The picture was taken by my talented mother and has been a family treasure ever since. Children possess a natural curiosity and a great love for the human, plant, and animal kingdoms; especially if we help foster and cultivate that love and respect within them. Reading, writing and arithmetic are wonderful but let’s not forget to teach love. ❤
